"This is a great opportunity to showcase the UK's advances in renewable energy. Following our recent announcement of the next phase of offshore wind power expansion, the UK is rapidly developing a dynamic wind energy market. Wind power is vital in our long term energy policy set out in the recent White Paper. Wind will be the major factor in helping us to reach our target of generating 10% of our electricity from renewable sources by 2010 and a significant factor in reducing our carbon dioxide emissions by 60% by 2050." Mike O´Brien, UK Energy Minister

The event brought together a network of international wind energy experts from each and every sector of the wind industry - policy, finance, research and development, manufacturing, and installation. Such experts combined with leading policy makers helped bring market oriented and sustainable responses to energy markets across Europe.

Mike O´Brien, UK Energy Minister
